Justin Fox To Play In Collegiate All-Star Game

New Martinsville resident and former Magnolia multi-sport athlete Justin Fox has been named to the Florida Collegiate Summer League All Stars.

Fox spent his summer break with the Florida Collegiate Summer League, where he excelled.

Fox played his high school ball at Magnolia before joining the West Virginia Mountaineers two years ago.

He was a four-year letterman for MHS Head Baseball Coach Dave Cisar and was elected captain of the Class-AA All-State teams in baseball and football his senior year.

Fox recorded a career batting average of .460 with 14 home runs and 108 RBIs and finished the 2011 season with a whopping .625 batting average, scoring 31 runs and knocking in 32 runs

In 2010, Fox was the Harrison H. Kennedy Award winner as the top football player in West Virginia.

He also appeared in 15 games with four starts for the West Virginia Mountaineer baseball team in 2012, his sophomore season.

This summer Fox lit up one of the top summer leagues in the country, according to Baseball America.

In addition to Fox, former Linsly School athlete Alex Stephens also was named to the summer league.

Stephens, the league’s reigning Player of the Week, is batting .300 and leads the DeLand Suns in hits (24) at bats, (80) and RBIs (11). Meanwhile Fox, a member of the Leesburg Lightning, has a .261 average in 22 games with 18 hits, six doubles and 12 runs batted in, that earned both Mountaineers All-Star berths in the summer league’s game July 9 in Sanford, Fla.
