Softball Clinic
There is room for 10 more softball players in a defensive skills techniques clinic to be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 1 at I-470 fields in Wheeling. Cost is $5 each for the two-hour hands-on clinic. Players should bring whatever they would to a game. Coach for the event is Bob Hoiles of Akron. Host for the clinic is the Diamond Queens 18/u girls’ travel team. To reserve a place, call 304-904-1670 or 304-337-9201.
Football Program Expanded
The Blacksville-Hundred youth football program now includes cheerleading for students in grades 3-6. For any child in that age group who wishes to participate in football, there will be a $75 registration fee per child.There will be a $50 registration fee for cheerleaders. To sign up, contact Jason Miller at 304-662-6487 or 304-276-6876. Athletes also may be registered at Hundred High School May 30 and June 4 from 5-7:30 p.m. both days. Long Drain Middle School and the eastern side of Wetzel County will have a football team and cheerleaders that will participate in a youth football camp for $30 a student with dates to be announced.
