Jay Salva, approval for Michelle Gorby, Math Teacher and Travel Group advisor, to take 15 senior students from PCHS to Kings' Island in Cincinnati, Ohio, on May 22-23. It is funded through student fees.

Jay Salva, approval to change the previously approved Paden City High School Eighth grade trip to Washington, D.C., on May 28-30, and move to June 3-5, due to the change in the school calendar. It is funded through fund raisers and student fees.

Jay Salva, approval for Brent Croasmun, Toby Willis, and Alissa Kirkbride McPeek to take the seventh and eighth students from PCHS who qualify through the Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program to the Pittsburgh Pirates Educational Day Game on May 23 in Pittsburgh, Pa. The board approved the following groups/organizations to raise funds, per the advisement of their legal counsel: Hundred High School, HHS Boys' Track, HHS Girls' Track, Hundred Softball, Hundred Baseball, HHS Relay for Life.

Out-of-County Attendance Request

The superintendent did not recommend the approval of an Out-of-County request for attendance from Dawn Anderson, for her son Domanick McManus, age six, to attend Wetzel County Schools. The board upheld her recommendation.

Textbook Adoption

The following textbooks were approved. Textbooks were adopted from the current official state multiple list of instructional materials, kindergarten through twelfth grade, as recommended by the committee for Grades K-12 Social Studies beginning in 2013-2014 school year. Most of these books are digital with online subscriptions for students. Several hardcopies will be at schools, so those without computers will are not left out.
