River 5-3

The River Pilots lost a double-header to the Shenandoah Zeps 8-5 and 4-3 April 13 at Shenandoah.

In the opener, the Pilots’ Eric Dierkes smacked a home run, but River couldn’t sustain that level of performance. Chad Isaly singled twice, while Cody Caldwell added RBI singles and Craig Hupp knocked in a pair of runs.

Kameron Brown took the loss from the mound. He struck out two and walked three.

In the night cap, the Pilots jumped out to 1-0 lead and scored four runs in the seventh, but it wasn’t enough to gain the nod.

Isaly paced the Pilots with a pair of RBI singles, while Dierkes added an RBI single. Caldwell took the loss from the rubber. He struck out 10 and walked two.
