Some of you have been kind enough in the past week or two to ask where I've been. You've actually missed this little column of mine. I am not feigning surprise when someone tells me that; I truly don't think what I?have to say is usually all that important or entertaining. That is exactly why I easily give up the space this column takes up when there are more important things vying for space. There is never enough space in this newspaper-never.
So when it comes to the question of me not saying much or printing a story that our readers should be delivered, I'll go with the story every time. Even this little update column takes valuable paper real estate.
So what have I been up to? Mostly working and being a mother. My two kids, now ages six-and-a-half and almost two, keep me very busy and this job of mine does the same. I have also been spending a lot of time in the basketball stands. Basketball is my favorite sport to watch and this year's Blue Eagle team is certainly one to watch.
So I'll be off to Charleston today, and hopefully Friday and Saturday too!
My little guy, Andrew, doesn't talk much and certainly doesn't put two words together often, but now, even when I'm just beckoning him to go out the door and say, "Let's go!" He counters, "Big Blue!"
