Memorabilia is needed from schools no longer in existence, but which have competed in past state boys' basketball tournaments.

The WVSSAC is celebrating the 100th State Boys Basketball Tournament during the current year's event March 13-16 at the Charleston Civic Center-Coliseum. A banquet on March 12 at the Civic Center will kick off the celebration.

"We are seeking memorabilia from all schools who have participated in past tournaments," said SSAC Assistant Director Ray Londeree, "but are hopeful we can include materials from schools who have been consolidated or are no longer in existence." Memorabilia would include trophies, plaques, balls, school uniforms, jerseys, pennants, programs, photos, etc. Londeree can be contacted at the WVSSAC office in Parkersburg, 304-485-5494.

The Paden City Lady Wildcats will play Buffalo Putnam for the small school Class-A Hometown Invitational Tournament championship at St. Marys High School Feb. 13 beginning at 6 p.m. Following that contest, the St. Marys Blue Devils will face Gilmer County for the bigger Class-A crown. More information will be available in next week's Wetzel Chronicle sports section.
