The Magnolia Blue Eagle Wrestling Team tallied 170 points to win the Tri-State Tournament in fashion, beating seven other teams at the event in Cameron.
MHS won over Clay-Battelle, who finished second with 153 points; Grafton with 147.5 points; and Cameron with 145 points. Tyler finished in fifth place, while Weir, Madonna, and Bishop Donahue rounded out the 6-8 spots.
Eagles Garrett Woofter (160 lbs.); Joey Kelly (170 lbs.); Jacob Rabel (182 lbs.), and Tyler Baker (220 lbs.) each won by pin fall in the first round with pins, while Jared Wright (195 lbs) moved on with a bye.
In the second round, Garrett Woofter (160 lbs.), Kelly, and Baker received a bye, while Wright defeated Ethan Lucas of Grafton by a pin early in their bout.
In the consolation round, Doug Riter (113 lbs..); Paden McConaughey (145 lbs.); Jacob Rabel (182 lbs.); and Alex Newman (285 lbs.) each recorded pins in their consolation matches, while Gage Deem picked up a 12-6 victory over the Dragons' Devin Starcher.
In the championship bouts, Woofter, Wright, and Baker each won championships with a pin, while Joseph Layman (126 lbs.) and Joey Kelly each placed second in their respective weight classes.
In the consolation finals, Riter, Rabel, and Newman each placed third with pin falls, while Stillwagoner and McConaughey fell to fourth place for the Blue Eagle wrestlers.
The Magnolia grapplers will host their last home wrestling match against Linsly Thursday, Jan. 10, 6 p.m.
