Dud Snider, the only three-time Ohio Valley Match Play Grand Finale Champion, won his first weekly event of the year with a 201-190 verdict over Bull Marling in last week's Ohio Valley weekly bowling championship. He won $65, compliments of Capital Beverage, this week's sponsor.
Marling posted the Ohio Valley Match Play's 30th perfect game in its 35-year history in the semi finals against Dave Johnson (315-236), while Snider edged Ron O'Neil Jr. 213-20 in the other semi final.
Dave Johnson was the two-game high qualifier with games of 215, 236 and an eight handicap for a 459 total.
Johnson continues to lead the Point List with 590 points, while John Leek Jr (440), Ron O'Neil Jr. (405) and Bill Pritsch, (330) round out the top four. The top 24 bowlers on the Point List qualify for the 35th Annual Ohio Valley Match Play finale with the top eight each earning a first-round bye.
Tournament sponsors are Miller Lite, Capital Beverage, and Buddy Light Accounting. The Grand Finale is set for May and features a $1,000 top prize, based on entries
