Notre Dame Use Fourth Quarter Magic To Beat Valley Lumberjills
Notre Dame used an 18-9 surge in the fourth period to beat the Valley Lumberjills 58-44 Nov. 27 in Clarksburg.
The ‘Jills took a 19-14 lead in the opening quarter before the Lady Irish trimmed the lead to 31-28 at the break and then pulled out the victory in the second half.
Megan Bucher tallied a game-high 18 points for Valley, while Brittany Sivert tacked on 11 markers. Samantha Thomas contributed five points, while Alisha Carter and Sarah Bassett each totaled four points and Madison Arnold netted a deuce.
Valley will seek to avenge its semi final loss to Paden City when the Lady Wildcats enter Lumberjill territory Thursday with varsity tipoff set for 6 p.m.
