Free Basketball Skill Clinic Offered

The Cancer Research Classic is a holiday high school basketball tournament played in Wheeling that raises money for cancer research. It's becoming one of the bigger events of its kind in the country and ESPN will again be carrying some of the games on national TV.

The Classic is offering a skill development clinic for middle and high school coaches, players, parents, and athletic directors on Nov. 13, designed to help educate them on skill development for college basketball. It's free for OVAC schools, athletic directors, coaches, athletes, and families. To register and for additional information call 304-243-6412.

NMS?Wrestling Camp

The New Martinsville School Wrestling Team is sponsoring a wrestling clinic Nov. 12 at the school, 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for students up to seniors in high school.

Registration fee is $40, payable to New Martinsville Middle School. Teaching the one-day clinic is West Virginia Mountaineer Kurt Brenner. He was a two-time WVU Wrestling Team Captain and a four-year starter. He also has been a three-time conference champion and a four-time NCAA National Qualifier.

Playoff Tickets On Sale

Advanced sale tickets for the first round Class-A football playoff game between Magnolia and Williamstown will be available at Magnolia High School on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Advanced sale prices are $7 for adults and $5 for students. All tickets at the gate will be $7 and only WVSSAC passes will be accepted.
