Saturday's Wileyville Homecoming will conclude with a performance by The Fabulous Bender Boys. The group was formed in the winter of 2003 and includes Roger Hoard on the lead guitar and vocals; Jim Miller on lead guitar, banjitar, mandolin, and vocals; Chad Smith on drums and vocals, and Mike Mazure, son of longtime local television newsman Steve Mazure, on bass guitar. "Partners, Brothers, & Friends," the Fabulous Bender Boys' brand-new CD, was just released this month.
Also entertaining at Saturday's festivities at the Wileyville Volunteer Fire Department will be Ron & Friends, 100 Miles from Nowhere, The Tharp Brothers, Middle of Nowhere, Crossroads, Price Family, and Sandy Brookover. The music begins at noon and lasts throughout the evening.
Opening ceremonies for Wileyville's homecoming will immediately follow the parade, which will be at 10:30 a.m. The Veterans Wall will be on display for the event, which will include horseshoe pitching, Cinch tournament, crafts for sale, flea market, and music in the shelter. Children's games will be available all day, along with cartoonist J.D. Williamson from 1-5 p.m.
