Once again, the Wetzel County "Relay for Life" was a huge success. The weather was perfect and there was good entertainment, good food, and time to reflect on our loved ones and friends that have survived, as well as those who have lost the battle of the dreaded disease of cancer. But there is HOPE, and that is where the businesses and individuals have helped Connie Dakan and I to help support the American Cancer Society with donations of money and items for the auctions.
The names of the businesses are: Jacksonburg Pit Stop, Down the Lane, Shortline Floral, Palmer Funeral Home, Martin's True Value, Debbie's Hair Loft, Dominion, Norris Pharmacy, Mason's Service Station, Design by George Ann, Wal-Mart, and Ace Hardware. Individuals were Mary Tennant, Jim and Mavis Goontz, Dixie Holbert, John and Mary Ann Horner, Bud and Diane Mason, Billy Baker, Linda Kernan, Dale and Sandy Goddard, Jack and Arminta Critchfield, Carollton and Barbara Norris, Daisy and Wally Kendall, Corinna Tennant, Deatta Sell, Terry Henthorn, Stacey Starkey, Linda Doty, Dennis and Patty McCardle, and Forrest Tennant.
