Local artists and craftsmen will be on hand today, July 4, to demonstrate their skills to all who attend the annual Arts in the Park celebration at Bruce Park in New Martinsville.
This event, sponsored by the New Martinsville Parks and Recreation Department and ArtsLink, will begin at 1 p.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. The storm on Friday certainly brought down some trees and branches in the park, but NMP&R Director Bev Gibb expects to have things cleaned up and ready in time for the annual event.
Musical entertainment will be provided throughout the afternoon, highlighted by Smoke Daddy and the Crawfish. Uncle Sam will be on hand to greet one and all. Games and face painting will be available for the young and the young at heart. Danny Westfall will also have his bubble wagon there for all to try their hand at making giant bubbles. Miniature golf in the park will also be free during the event.

All residents are encouraged to include a stop by the park as part of their celebration of America's birthday.
Arts in the Park is supported in part by the Ohio River Border Initiative, a joint project of the Ohio Arts Council and the West Virginia Commission on the Arts.
