The following routine matters met approval at Monday night's Wetzel County Board of Education meeting:
Approval was given in regards to the request from Linda Duncan for her daughter, Jahnvi Duncan, to be released from Wetzel County Schools (New Martinsville School) to continue attending Tyler County Schools for 2012-2013 school year.
Also, approval was granted to Jae C. Lehew for her children, Asia Syrece Richmond and Quintin Russell Richmond, to be released from Wetzel County Schools (Magnolia High School and New Martinsville School) to continue attending Tyler County Schools for the 2012-2013 school year.
Julie Gump was given permission for her children, Abigail Rose Gump, Levi Andrew Gump, and Lincoln Lee Gump, to continue attending Wetzel County Schools (Magnolia High School/New Martinsville School) for the 2012-2013 school year, pending release from Tyler County Schools.
Also, Michael D. Thomas was given permission for his son, Denton Thomas, to continue attending Wetzel County Schools (Paden City High School) for the 2012-2013 school year, pending release from Tyler County Schools.
In another matter, approval was granted for Wetzel County Schools to participate in the following State and Federal Entitlement Funds for the Education of Students with Exceptionalities for the 2012-2013 school year: IDEA, Part B School Age Entitlement FY2013, $738,084; IDEA, Part B Preschool Entitlement FY2013, $32,352; State Aid - County Grant Award FY2013, $84,936.
The board also chose Security Life Insurance Company of America as the Wetzel County Schools' student accident insurance plans(voluntary participation) for the 2012-2013 school year.
Approval was also given in regards to the first reading of the Wetzel County GCAD-R: Director of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction policy.
