The Hannibal swimming pool and tennis complex was constructed in 1976 with revenue sharing funds from the Ohio Township Trustees in the amount of $65,000.
The local Community Civic Group provided funds in the amount of $22,548 to build a bathhouse and filter system for the pool.
A $24,000 grant was obtained from the Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 to build the two tennis courts. This year an ADA lift and steps have been installed to make access possible, if needed, for swimmers with special needs. And, with the support of both supplies and labor donated by numerous patrons and two businesses, some operational and cosmetic improvements at the pool have been made.
One such improvements was a mural painted by Amy Shreve and her son Jacob.
The opening for the Hannibal Pool is set for June 1. The hours are from noon-6 p.m.
The daily admission is $3 for students and $3.50 for adults. Season passes are on sale for students at $60; $75 for adults; and $125 for a family.
There are pool parties and special events available for rent.
