The Ohio Valley Athletic Conference has released its latest weekly rankings of baseball and softball teams' season records.
In Class AAA of the OVAC softball standings, the Magnolia Lady Blue Eagles continue to show the way with a record of 13-2. In second place are the Lady Cadets of Fort Frye with a record of 5-0. The number three spot went to the Shenandoah Lady Zeps with a record of 5-1.
Martins Ferry follows in , with a 4-4 record, wHile the Lady Seminoles of Monroe Central round out the top five with a record of 5-5.
In Class AA, the Lady Tigers of Shadyside led the ranking with an 8-1 season, followed by the Lady Crusaders of Steubenville Catholic Central, 6-2. In third place are the Lady Dragons of Cameron with a 12-4 record while the Lady River Pilots hold down the number four spot.
Completing the top five are the Lady Maroon Knights of Wheeling Central, 8-7 on the season.
In Class A, it is the St. John Central Lady Fighting Irish, who are at thee top with a 7-2 record. In second place are the Lady Blue Dons of Weir Madonna, 4-3, followed by Bishop Donahue with a record of 9-7.
The Paden City Lady Wildcats ranked fourth place with a record of 3-7 and Conotton Valley is number 5 with a 2-5 record.
The Valley Lumber Jills are sixth with a 1-6 record while the Hundred Lady Hornets are 0-5 on the season.
In Class AAA, the Bellaire Big Reds lead the rankings with a 7-2 record on the season, while the Buckeye Trail Warriors are in second place with a 9-4 season.
The Martins Ferry Purple Riders, 6-5, follow, while the Shenandoah Zeps come in fourth place, having gone 5-3.
Rounding out the top five are the Magnolia Blue Eagles with a 5-5 record after losing a pair of games last week.
In Class AA, it is the Toronto Red Knights showing the way with an 8-1 record. The Shadyside Tigers, 6-2, are in the second spot and the Linsly Cadets take the third spot at 11-3. The Crusaders of Steubenville Catholic Central, 7-2, follow and the Cameron Dragons, 8-4, are ranked in fifth place
The River Pilots are currently still searching for their first win with a record of 0-7.
In Class A, the Weirton Madonna Blue Dons anchor the rating with an 8-2 season to date, with Bishop Donahue closing in with a 10-1 campaign. The Trinity Christian Warriors are sitting on the third spot with a 5-2 record.
However, only a half-point behind them are the Valley Lumberjacks, now 5-2 after a three-game sweep in Myrtle Beach.
The Fighting Irish of St John landed the fifth spot with a 3-5 record and Paden City Wildcats are ranked sixth at 2-6. The Hundred Hornets are in eighth place with 1-7 in the 2012 campaign.
