North American Youth Sports has announced its annual spring youth basketball tournament at Morgantown High School and University High School on April 27-29.
This tournament will feature ten different brackets. They include 5-6 grade boys; 5-6 grade girls; 7th grade boys; 7th grade girls; 8th grade boys; 9-10 grade girls; 9-10 grade boys; 9-10 grade girls; 11-12 grade boys; and 11-12 grade girls. All grades are based on the grade in which a student is currently enrolled.
The entry fee for this tournament is $110 and guarantees each team a minimum of two games. There will be awards presented in each bracket. The entry deadline is April 6, 2012.

NWTF Hold March Banquet
The Middle Island Longbeards chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will host their 14th Annual Hunting Heritage Superfund Banquet on March 10 at the Momentive Performance Materials-Park Training Facility at Bens Run.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be at 6:30 p.m., with a social hour, live and silent auction, games, raffles and more, all to raise funds for wild turkey conservation and the hunting heritage.

WV Hunter Education Course Offered
A West Virginia Hunter Education Course will be held at the Mollohan Center, Wetzel County 4-H Campgrounds, March 3-4 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. Lunch will be served on Saturday. Participants must pre-register and each student must bring proof of identification.
Included in the training will be basic gun safety, information about the different types of firearms and ammunition, archery, wildlife management, shooting, personal safety and survival, game care, and hunter responsibility.

Mother Son Bowling
Mothers and sons, aged four and up, are invited to join the New Martinsville Parks and Recreation Department for some EXTREME Glow Bowling, Saturday, March 24 from 6-8 p.m. at Bruce Bowling Lanes.
Bruce Bowling Lanes will provide music and bowling with their Extreme Glow black lights, fog, and spotlight effects.
The fee will be $17 per couple and $5 for each additional son. The fee includes two games of bowling with shoe rental, pizza and refreshments!
Space is limited, so register early. The registration fee will increase to $27 per couple and $10 per additional son after Friday, March 16th.

Soccer Sign Ups
The New Martinsville Soccer Club is holding its Spring Competitive Soccer sign ups. The teams that could be offered, pending participant sign-ups and availability of coaches are: Under 10 Co-Ed; Under 12 Co-Ed; and Under 15 Co-Ed.
The number of players on teams is limited. The cost to register is $30 and an additional jersey fee is needed if a players is new.

There will be a benefit youth basketball tournament for the Cross family in Paden City who lost everything in a house fire recently. The tournament will be for fifth grade boys and held at the Paden City old middle school gym on March 3-4.
