Parkersburg Sinks ‘Cats

By Staff | Feb 29, 2012

Parkersbug Catholic went on a 21-2 run to start the game and never looked back, sending the Paden City Lady ‘Cats packing 69-21 in the second round of Region II Sectionals Feb. 20 at Ritchie County High School.

Dominique Craft ended her senior season with a double-double, 10 points and 10 rebounds, to pace Paden City. In addition, Logan Cosper sank seven points that included a basket from beyond the arc, while Kayla Hizer netted a deuce. Lynah Stanley and Lynnsie Parsons each netted a free throw.

Paden City will graduate two seniors in the spring, in Dominique Craft and Amanda Heasley. Craft and Heasley have been the heart and soul of the club all season. Craft led in almost every offensive category – scoring, rebounding, and steals – while Heasley paced the ‘Cats in blocked shots and was second in rebounding. Heasley, who has been hampered all season by illness and injuries, still played in all but one game.

“We will miss both these girls very much,” said Paden City Head Coach Kelly Sine. “However, we will look to build on this season and strive to get better and better each day, starting now!”
