The 25th Annual Greenbrier River Trail Bike Trek has been scheduled for May 17 20. This exciting three-day bike ride begins in Cass, W.Va., and winds its way through the spectacular scenery along the Greenbrier River. It ends 100 miles downstream in Caldwell.
Cyclists with varying levels of experience are invited. By riding in this event, trekkers help the American Lung Association bring attention to the devastating chronic illness of lung disease and raise funds to fight lung disease. The majority of participants are dedicated trekkers and many have participated for more than 20 years.
During the event, participants will be staying at the Inn at Snowshoe both Thursday and Friday nights. Participants will enjoy a casual welcome/orientation party on Thursday evening and an outdoor cook-out (weather permitting) on Friday evening.
Saturday evening will be spent at Camp Anthony around a bonfire celebrating 25 years on the trail. Saturday night accommodations include bunkhouse type lodging or bring a tent and camp under the stars.
All meals, as well as refreshments on the trail, are included Friday through Sunday's breakfast. Transportation includes gear shuttle, sag service, and rest stops every eight to 10 miles.
