New Martinsville Police Chief Tim Cecil reports three individuals have been arrested after taking thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from the local Walmart.

Jennifer Puanani Alamani, 26; Robert Eugene Stillwagoner, 26; and Tina Darlene Frye, 28; had apparently been working in concert over several months taking items from the New Martinsville store as early as October.

It is believed two of the individuals were bringing items to the register where the third individual, working as a cashier, intentionally failed to process transactions correctly, or possibly at all. Chief Cecil says the culprits took roughly $3,600 in merchandise such as electronics, food, and Christmas items including a Christmas tree.

Chief Cecil explained he and his officers obtained a search warrant on the suspects just before Thanksgiving. The three named were all scheduled at different times to take a lie detector test, however each canceled their appointments, leading authorities to make arrests. Alamani, Stillwagoner, and Frye were placed in the Northern Regional Jail without bail on Dec. 19.

The case remains under investigation, however it was noted $600 worth of stolen goods have been recovered.
