I am writing this letter concerning a new publication whose author has used my name as being the “editing and proofing” person, and I am in no way responsible for anything pertaining to the publication or its content. It is not the type of book I would read, buy, or recommend.
I was given a copy of the book recently, and prior to that, had never seen this story. Prior to the publication of this book, I had told the author that I would not do the editing and that I did not want my name mentioned in her book. She told me that she would be doing her own editing because she felt the publishing company’s fee was too expensive. In the book she gave me, it said that I was responsible for the “editing and proofing.” I have contacted both the author and the publishing company about this matter.
I have been advised not to mention the name of the author or the book title. I am asking if anyone purchases or has purchased a book that states Eva ice as being the person responsible for “editing and proofing,” please contact me at 304-889-3354. I have asked the author, in writing, to “black out” my name on any copies already in existence and for it to be completely removed from any future copies. I do not want my name associated with this type of publication.
I did not give permission for my name to be used and I did not edit or proofread this material.
The author and editor of this publication is going to have to take responsibility for her own mistake in content, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Again, anyone purchasing a book with my name being displayed, please call the number previously mentioned. I hope this article will help with some “damage” control and that further action can be avoided if the false statement is removed.
