To the Editor:

The First Baptist Church of New Martinsville, located at the corner of Fourth and Leap Streets, will be hosting two events this year in observance of the 60th anniversary of the National Day of Prayer. The 2011 theme is A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.

We invite the community to join us for our Annual Prayer Breakfast on May 5 at 6 a.m. We begin with a light breakfast followed by a time of prayer led by individuals of the community. The prayer breakfast will conclude by 7 a.m. to allow participants to go on to work or other appointments.

Our second event will be a Mobile Prayer Walk at noon. We invite interested individuals to gather just before noon in the parking lot of the First Baptist Church to join this time of prayer at various pre-determined locations in our community. The participants will be transported to various places to join together in prayer. Participants will be returned to the parking lot of the First Baptist Church at the conclusion of the Prayer Walk. For further information about either of these events, please contact the First Baptist Church at 304-455-1433.
