Advance Tickets On Sale
Advanced tickets for Thursday night’s boys’ basketball state tournament game between Magnolia and Keyser will be available at Magnolia High School on March 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Advanced ticket prices are $8 for adults and $6 for students. All tickets at the game will be $8.
WV Hunter Education Course Detailed
A West Virginia Hunter Education Course will be held at the Mollohan Center on April 2 and 3 from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. Each student must bring identification. Included in the training will be basic gun safety, information about the different types of firearms and ammunition, archery, wildlife management, shooting, person safety and survival, game care, and hunter responsibility.

Relay For Life Bowlathon On Tap April 1
The Wetzel Chronicle and the Tyler Star News will sponsor a Relay For Life Bowlathon April 1 at Bruce Lanes from 6-8 p.m.
Labeled “It’s No April Fools Day Joke, Let’s Strike Out Cancer,” the Wetzel Chronicle and Tyler Star News will join forces, along with area Wetzel and Tyler County residents, to go out and get pledges. They, in return, will bowl two games trying to knock down as many pins down as they can en route to raising funds to help strike out cancer.
Persons interested in going out and getting pledges, please contact either the Wetzel Chronicle or Tyler Star News for a pledge sheet. Everyone going out and raising at least $30 will receive two games of Glow In The Dark Bowling free, along with shoe rental, pizza, refreshments, and a Strike Out Cancer T-Shirt. Persons who prefer to make a donation toward the fund raiser should send pledges or donations to the Wetzel Chronicle at P.O. Box 289, New Martinsville, WV 26155 or the Tyler Star News, P.O. Box 191, Sistersville, WV 26159.
Many other door prizes will be awarded, along with color pin deals where you can get more prizes for rolling a strike. In addition, there will be music and raffles all day long in this event to help stamp out cancer in this lifetime.
The Wetzel Chronicle is located at the red light at Wal-Mart and the Tyler Star News is located in Sistersville beside First Federal Savings Bank.
Mother And Son Bowling
Mothers and sons, aged four and up, are invited to join the New Martinsville Parks and Recreation Department for some EXTREME Glow Bowling on March 26 from 6-8 p.m. at Bruce Bowling Lanes.
Bruce Bowling Lanes will provide music and bowling with their Extreme Glow black lights, fog, and spotlight effects. The participants will get souvenir miniature bowling pins or miniature bowling ball and the parks department will be taking photographs for mothers to have as a keepsake from the event. Names will be drawn at random throughout the night and prizes will be given out, as well as prizes for lowest mother score, highest mother score, lowest son score, and highest son score.
