“Soar for the Cure” Basketball Benefit
The second “Soar for the Cure,” a New Martinsville School 7-8 Girls’ Benefit Basketball game, will be held at NMS on Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. The NMS Girls’ 7th and 8th grade basketball teams will play the Short Line 7th and 8th grade girls’ teams. The basketball game will benefit the Lee Ann Foundation which lends financial aid to victims of breast cancer in the Tyler, Wetzel, Marshall, Ohio, and Belmont County areas.
The Lee Ann Foundation was established in memory of Lee Ann Schambach by her family following Lee Ann’s death to breast cancer in 2009. Schambach was a longtime first and second grade teacher at NMS. Last year at the basketball game, NMS raised nearly $1,700 for the foundation.
The basketball game will feature t-shirt sales, a bake sale, raffles, a hoop shoot, and sales of memorial bricks for the NMS Memorial Brick Garden in front of the K-1 Building.
Please wear pink and come out to support the Lee Ann Foundation. For more information, please contact Coach Brian Croasmun at NMS.

The OVAC also is trying to locate Woody Taylor (Magnolia ‘56) and programs from the 1956, 1957, and 1958 all-star games. Readers who can help are asked to contact email@example.com.
