Upward Basketball and Cheerleading

Registration and Skills Tests will be held at the New Martinsville United Methodist Church for Upward Sports Basketball and Cheerleading on Dec. 9 and 16 from 5:30-7 p.m.

For questions, call the church at 304-455-1422. Upward Sports is open to children kindergarten through sixth grade. The church is located at 10 Howard Jeffers Dr., New Martinsville.

MHS State Championship

Tickets On Sale

Advance tickets for the State Championship football game between Magnolia and Ravenswood will be available at MHS Dec. 1-2 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and on Dec. 3 from 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Advance tickets for students are $6 and $8 for adults. All tickets at the gate will be $8. No advance tickets will be sold after 10:20 a.m. on Friday.

MHS To Honor

Basketball State Champions

Magnolia will honor the boys' state championship teams from 1961, 2000, and 2003, as well as the girls' 2005 state champions, at halftime of the Tyler Consolidated boys' basketball game on Dec. 28 at Magnolia High School.

Players from these teams are urged to attend and be recognized for their accomplishments. The Basketball Boosters will provide refreshments for the state championship reunion on the balcony throughout the game. MHS Pep Rally

Magnolia High School is having a community Pep Rally Friday, Dec. 3, at 2:15 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. Please join the MHS staff, student body, band, and cheerleaders as they prepare to send the Blue Eagle Football Team to the West Virginia Class-AA Championship Game at Wheeling Island Stadium Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Wheeling Jesuit Winter Softball Camp

The Wheeling Jesuit University softball team and coaching staff will be hostinga winter softball camp for athletesentering grades four through 12. The camp will be Jan. 23 and 30 on the WJU campus. The camp willinclude instruction for pitching, hitting, catching, and defense. All players will work in age-appropriate groups.
