Past McDonald Band Members

The Ohio Valley Athletic Conference is currently looking for members of the OVAC/McDonald’s All-Star Band.

Formed in 1982, there have been 29 units. Former members are asked to e-mail the following information to tom@OVAC.org.

Name, current mailing address, email address, years performed, instrument played, and if you still play.

MHS?Advance Tickets Now

On Sale For Weir Game

Advance tickets for the Oct. 8 football game between the Magnolia Blue Eagles and the Weir Red Riders are available in Magnolia’s front office from noon to 1 p.m. through Thursday, Oct. 7.

Advance tickets will not be available on Friday. The advanced tickets are $4 for adults and $3 for students. All tickets at the game will be $5.

Sports Foundation Accepting

Applications For Volleyball

Sports For Youth Foundation is currently accepting player applications from Canadian and American boys and girls, age 15 – 20, who are accomplished high school or club volleyball players. Applicants should also be good citizens in their school and community.

The 2011 Goodwill Ambassadors Volleyball Exchange promotes international friendships and peace through sport. The year 2011 will be the 31st year that the Goodwill Ambassadors have conducted sports tours promoting world peace and understanding. This year, two tours will be offered. One tour will travel to London, Paris, while the other will go to Italy, visiting in Venice, Florence, and Rome.

Pilot Golfer Qualifies For State

River Pilot Zack Wax qualified for the OHSAAState Tournament to be held at North Star Resort Golf Club on Oct. 15-16 by firing a 77 Oct. 4 at a cold and blustery River Greens Golf Course in West Laffette, Ohio. Wax’s score was the third best overall and lowest of the individual qualifiers.He overcame a rainy back nine by firing a 38 to seal his trip to the capital city next week.
