Mr. and Mrs. John Michael Byard

Jamie Lynn Cochick and John Michael Byard were united in holy matrimony on June 23 on the beautiful white sands of Princess Beach, Okaloosa Island in Florida. The double ring ceremony was officiated by the Reverend Joseph Williams.

The bride is the daughter of Juanita Cochick and the late James Cochick of Coraopolis, Pa. She is currently employed as the director of nursing services at Sistersville Center in Sistersville.

The groom is the son of Allen Byard and the late Doris Jean Byard of Reader. He is currently employed as a journeyman boilermaker with local No. 667.

The bride was given in marriage by her mother. She wore a full length ivory satin gown with beaded crystal embellishment at the waist and a chapel train. Her fingertip length veil was complemented by a beaded crystal tiara. The bride carried a bouquet of long-stemmed ivory calla lilies and coral roses with ivory satin wrap.

Matrons of honor were Carol Booth and Linda Howard, sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Judith Mohr, friend of the bride, and Laura Rasel, future daughter-in-law of the bride. The attendants wore palm-beach coral satin dresses. They carried long-stemmed ivory calla lilies and a coral rose with pale turquoise wrap. The flower girl was Antonia Howard, niece of the bride. She wore an embellished, ivory gown complemented by a beaded crystal tiara and carried a satin basket filled with seashells.

Bobby Zubreski and Zachary Zubreski, sons of the bride, and Logan Byard, son of the groom, served as best men for the groom.

During the ceremony shells were tossed into the surf in loving memory of James B. Cochick and Doris Jean Byard. A sand ceremony was also completed by the bride and groom to signify the joining of two families.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Lighthouse restaurant in Destin. The two-tiered wedding cake consisted of chocolate cake with cannoli and fresh strawberry filling. It was decorated with ivory frosting and pale coral roses. The bride and groom cake topper was used by the bride’s parents at their wedding.

The couple honeymooned on Okaloosa Island in Florida. They will reside in St. Marys.
