This week's edition of the Wetzel Chronicle is filled to the brim with photos from celebrations over this past holiday weekend. We have pages of images from the areas of Hundred,?Pine Grove, and New Martinsville. They are all from events designed to bring the community together for a good time while we celebrate the birth of our nation.
Then on page 3B we have photos from Staff Writer Miranda Stokes from a different sort of celebration-the celebration of the life of a man who dedicated himself to his state and country. She was fortunate to be able to attend the memorial service for Sen. Robert C. Byrd in Charleston and shares with readers some of the great images she caught with her camera and some thoughts on her very "West Virginia"?day.
And we also see a different sort of pride and celebration on page 8A as Paden City High?School alumni revel in their heritage and their victory in getting a clause that called for the school's closure removed from a Board of Education document.
This was certainly a weekend for celebration-for several very good reasons.
