Start Spreading The News

By Staff | Dec 30, 2009

We hope the Wetzel County Convention and Visitors Bureau will receive widespread support as this fledgling endeavor begins and matures into a valuable asset for the area.

The idea of having an extra resource when trying to encourage visitors to come here and groups to hold events locally is certainly appealing. Wetzel County does have much to offer and we hope now there will be an even better way to get that word out to others.

So many times people do not think of less populated areas like our county as good places for conventions, but for some smaller gatherings we can be the perfect solution.

A good example is the Grand Chapter of the Royal Arch Masons of West Virginia that met in New Martinsville Oct. 17. It is certainly more common for that group to meet in one of the state’s larger cities, but New Martinsville proved to be a fine host. Many attendees commented favorably on the hospitality and attractions they found here. Hopefully the CVB will help spread that word.
