From Helping Hand Food Pantry

November 25, 2009
Wetzel Chronicle

Special thanks to Boy Scout Pack 102 from the New Martinsville United Methodist Church and to Troop 149 from New Martinsville's First Presbyterian Church.

These groups collected more than 1,000 items of donated food left on residents' doorsteps for the Helping Hand Food Pantry. Sally and Peter Conklin are leaders of these groups. Employees of Consolidated Coal also made donations.

The board of directors of the food pantry are very appreciative of these donations and the efforts of the scouts and their leaders. The canned and boxed items will be used to serve Wetzel County's needy.
