It might have rained Saturday and it undoubtedly kept some people away from the Chili-Fest in New Martinsville, but I was pleasantly surprised by the number of people who still came out for the event.
I happened to be on Main Street before the event began Saturday and I was impressed by how dedicated the people were to setting up their booths in the pouring rain. I really commend you for that. It seems that far too often these days people are, well, wimps and won't do anything outside of their comfort zones. You wouldn't let some rain keep you away and that makes me proud.
I personally love the Chili-Fest for many reasons, but of course the chili has a lot to do with it. I really enjoy tasting the different interpretations of the classic soup. This year's entries did not disappoint. Thanks.
