Harold “Pete” and Ruth Phillips

Harold “Pete” and Ruth Phillips, formerly of New Martinsville and life-long residents of Wetzel County, now of St. Cloud, Fla., recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with friends and family at the Neptune Road Baptist Church in Kissimmee, Fla. They were married at Wichita Falls, Texas, on Sept. 16, 1949, where Pete was stationed with the Air Force at Shepard Field.

Pete and Ruth have three children: Patricia (Johnny) Robinson of Iuka, Miss.; Debra (Sam) Davis of Wasilla, Ark.; and Sharon (Rick) Jones of Charleston, W.Va. They have two grandsons, one granddaughter, and two great-grandsons.

The gospel trio Buck Alley participated in the morning service at the church, followed by lunch in the fellowship hall and a mini concert in the afternoon.

Pete is retired from the U.S. Air Force and PPG Industries (Natrium). Ruth is retired from Ormet Corp. in Hannibal.
