MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia University officials are working to improve student organizations' behavior.

Student Organization Services interim director Bob Campione tells The Dominion Post ( ) that the university is establishing an advisory board for campus Greek organizations. Additional advisory boards are planned to eventually oversee all student organizations, including club sports teams and chess clubs.

Morgantown Police Chief Ed Preston says the formation of the WVU Greek Life Advisory Board will help stop such behavior as a water balloon fight on Feb. 22 that escalated into a melee involving 20 to 30 people.

Campion says the university also plans to develop a handbook that would serve as a conduct guide for student organizations. It will be a companion guide to the WVU Student Conduct Code.
