MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Officials with the West Virginia University Foundation say that if current trends continue, it should reach its fundraising campaign goal months ahead of schedule.
President and CEO Wayne King told The Dominion Post (http://bit.ly/1bssEMq) that the campaign should hit the $700 million mark the end of the year.
That would put them on pace to reach the $750 million goal well ahead of the foundation's December 2015 deadline.
King says the foundation has reached 75 gifts of $1 million or more as part of the campaign.
If the foundation meets its goal early, the board can either end the campaign, raise the goal or continue raising money without increasing the goal.
