HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Supporters of the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center in Huntington dressed up in 1920s-style attire for a fundraiser.

The fundraiser Saturday night commemorated the theater's 85th anniversary. Supporters paid $100 to attend the event, which featured a Vaudeville-themed magic show and music specific to the period.

It marked the first of 15 fundraisers that will be held each year leading up to the 100th anniversary of the theater in 2028. Profits from the fundraisers will be used for the facility's ongoing operations, renovations and restorations.

Derek Hyman, whose grandfather and great-uncle opened the theater in 1928, tells The Herald-Dispatch ( that the theater is a great asset to the city.

Saturday's event was organized by Huntington production company MPE Entertainment.
