SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Shepherdstown police say a female pedestrian has been killed by a train.
Police Chief David Ransom tells The Journal (http://bit.ly/17Gub0H ) that a Norfolk Southern train struck the woman Monday night in Shepherdstown.
The victim's identity won't be released until her family is notified.
The Federal Railroad Administration Office of Safety says 10 people have died in pedestrian-train collisions in West Virginia as of August, the latest month available.
