PRINCETON, W.Va. (AP) — A West Virginia father and his son have been denied bond on first-degree murder charges in what investigators call the execution-style shooting of another man.
The Beckley Register-Herald (http://bit.ly/Id8qiu ) reports that a Mercer County Circuit Court judge denied bond Monday for 44-year-old Oscar Combs Sr. and 21-year-old Oscar Combs Jr.
The Combs are charged in the April 2011 slaying of 55-year-old James "Bo" Butler of Summers County. His body was found weeks later in Wyoming County. The Combs were charged last week.
Investigators said the Combs met Butler in Mercer County with the intention of robbing him of a paycheck he had recently received.
State police investigators said father and son accused each other in the fatal shooting.
