CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) — A Morgantown man who tried to hire a baby-sitter who would also perform sexual favors will spend two to 10 years behind bars.
WBOY (http://bit.ly/HrsYUn) says Harrison County Circuit Judge Lewis Marks Jr. sentenced 31-year-old Kannan Kesavan for soliciting a minor online.
Kesavan advertised on social media in June, offering $10 an hour for child care and extra for sex.
Investigators say that when he got a reply from what was believed was a 15-year-old girl, he acknowledged she was underage and asked her if she was sure about having sex.
Kesavan's attorney requested alternative sentencing Monday, including allowing his client to leave the country because he's a citizen of India.
Marks denied that request and ordered Kesavan to register for a sex offender for 10 years after he's released.
