MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Donors have pushed West Virginia University to 91 percent of its current fundraising goal, with two more years left in the so-called "State of Minds" campaign.
WVU says alumni and other supporters have given a total of $683.4 million as of Sept. 30.
The goal is $750 million by Dec. 31, 2015.
WVU Foundation President Wayne King says people are excited by the positive news coming out of the university, and that translates to generosity.
One of the major gifts over the past three months was a $1.5 million donation to the business and law schools from the Wehrle family of Charleston and the Wehrle Foundation.
