MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — A new center at West Virginia University is offering safety training for oil and gas workers.

People seeking work in the industry also can take the courses offered by the Oil and Gas Training and Assistance Center.

Course topics include fall protection, confined space, fire protection and transportation safety.

WVU Extension safety specialist Tiffany Rice says in a news release that the courses will help ensure that workers are prepared and protected when they enter a job site.
