CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A nursing home in Charleston is changing owners.
Stonerise Healthcare is acquiring Heartland of Charleston from HCR ManorCare for $13 million. Stonerise is making the purchase under the name Chesterfield Co. Inc.
The West Virginia Health Care Authority has issued a certificate of need to Chesterfield for the acquisition.
Larry Pack with Chesterfield tells the Charleston Gazette (http://bit.ly/19D3rlf ) that Heartland's name will change to the Eastbrook Center. But the nursing home's management won't change.
Pack says the company wants to improve the nursing home's clinical capabilities and service. It also wants to expand the staff's expertise and take care of community needs.
Stonerise also owns nursing centers in Belmont, Lindside, Morgantown and Parkersburg.
