CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — The Libertarian Party of West Virginia has selected Bill Talkington as its new chairman.
Talkington replaces Michael Wilson, who resigned due to health issues.
The Charleston Gazette (http://bit.ly/1eUiTMd) reports Wilson was chosen at the party's quarterly meeting Saturday in Flatwoods.
Talkington is a postdoctoral fellow in neuroscience at West Virginia University.
The party's candidates will appear automatically on the state ballot after its gubernatorial hopeful received 1.3 percent of the vote in November's general election. State law recognizes a party for ballot access when its gubernatorial candidate gets at least 1 percent of the vote.
