Now We're On Facebook And Twitter

May 13, 2010 - Amy Witschey

The Wetzel Chronicle has added two new ways for our readers to keep in touch with things happening in the Wetzel County area. We now have Facebook and Twitter accounts that will provide updates periodically.

Of course most of our news is available on Wednesdays, so that is when our “friends” on these social media sites will get the most updates, but we plan to periodically keep you updated on other things such as new blogs on our Web site and upcoming events in the area. Also, this will give us the ability to put out pertinent information that can’t wait until Wednesday’s publication date—things such as road closings and detours, even weather warnings and flood watches could be posted.
We hope you will join us in this foray into the world of social media.

I have found it a bit difficult to find the Wetzel Chronicle page by searching on Facebook, but you can go to this link, http://www.facebook.com/pages/New-Martinsville-WV/Wetzel-Chronicle/115003851870342 and click on “Like”. Then as we post status updates, they will appear in your News Feed. Thanks for being our friend and staying informed!

My Name is Martin B. Wetzel from Switzerland (sorry for my english).

As you may imagine, I feel somehow connected to this County. I therefore hope, that you will do a better job for Wetzel County on Facebook and Twitter than what you do here with the Wetzel Chronicles. As you might be aware, everything published here will also be seen in the word. Believe me, from reading your Chronicles nobody will feel invited or get the impression that there is much else than shootings, drugs, trials and marriage in this county. Everything published by you tells "Stay away or get the **** out of here" Even under "National News" – nothing but shootings and crime. Sorry, missed one: Larry Hogan has cancer...

You really dont do this County any favour.
