Business After Hours
June 26, 2009 - Wetzel County Chamber of Commerce
6-26-09 Last night Radio Shack hosted the Business After Hours for Chamber members and guests. Brian did a wonderful job and had 4 - 3 foot long subs with all the fixings to feed the crowd. We played Wii bowling and took a shot at Rock Band. I bombed out as a drummer and Tom Casey asked me if I was left handed because I did better with my left hand than my right when drumming (that's too funny - I'm seriously right handed and can't even pronounce ambidexterous). But Jae C. representing S & S Jewelry and Nicole representing A T & T rocked the house with their rendition of a Rolling Stones hit. The photo shows Jae C. and Jim attempting a duet, with Brian getting them set-up and Steve looking on.
Jim Stein representing WTRF was there and had spent the day in town showing the new Buy Local commercials to participating businesses. This is a wonderful opportunity to get your business advertised on TV for a very competitive rate by partnering with the Wetzel County Chamber of Commerce. This allows you to reach more potential clients that may not be familiar with all New Martinsville has to offer. And the best thing we have to offer is our friendly, courteous, and helpful people. In this day and age of disconnect everyone longs to be treated with respect and valued as a customer. I was in a large local establishment recently that has instituted a new policy - you can no longer page someone for assitance. You either have to figure it out yourself or go find someone to help you. I can't tell you how appalled I was at that business decision. Customer service should be the hallmark of all businesses and operations (restocking, paperwork, cleaning, etc.) should always take second place.
Radio Shack gave away three computer virus protection programs (each capable of protecting up to three computers) and the grand prize was a GPS navigation system. Can't get lost getting to work now!
